Review by David Geffen on CD Baby

*****! A mastery of lyrical artistry! Recomended to all music enthusiasts!
Reviewer: David Geffen...Geffen music corp.
myself being one of the most successful music industries C.E.O.s find this C.D. the most refreshing and heart inspired accumulation of lyrical tracks my ears have had the PRIVILLEGE to receive. I understand that the brilliant lyricist Tracy Howard has moved on to the ultimate venue (heaven) as a fitting reward to her talent. It is truely A god given talent like hers that allows for my success. Not since the late Janice Joplin have I heard honest raw vocals as Tracys nor felt heart and soul stiring words blended with equaly gifted sound as Tracy and her band have left the world to enjoy! Truely a legacy left as a testament to her life. I found myself feeling short changed that I did not know of her until she was gone. Yet I feel pleasure from the gift of her music. She will truely be missed by the living that are lucky enough to enjoy her gift!!

Another "Shoe" looses her battle with cancer, Kelly passes

I need to let you know that my friend Kelly Jordan, our bass player from March of 2003 through December 2006, died Monday evening (2/12) at approximately 9:30 PM. Kebra and I were lucky enough to be with her, along with her husband, mother-in-law, and both sisters-in-law.

She had been battling breast cancer since February 2004, but played with the band through all of her chemo and radiation. This past December Kelly decided to leave the band to devote more energy to fighting her cancer. We all hoped that she would beat it, but, at the age of 45, she lost her battle and TMS lost another family member.

There will be a memorial service on Saturday 2/17 at 3:00 PM in the Hogan Baptist Church, located at 8045 Hogan Road (corner of Parental Home Road off of Beach Blvd.).

Kelly's husband, Mike, would prefer that instead of flowers that you make a donation to the Donna Hicken Foundation in Kelly's name.

Please come to the Memorial Service and share stories of this wonderful woman's life.

Mary Kirk Returns as TMS Bass player

MARY KIRK, from Warren, Michigan, began performing with Kebra in June 1993, with the band Plain Jane, and became the TMS bass player at its formation in 1996. Mary played with TMS through December 2002, when she decided to pursue another musical endeavor. The spring of 2006 reunited the original TMS foursome for Tracy Howard’s final project: “Fat Fanny and the Too Many Shoes Revival”. With the passing of Tracy and the departure of Kelly, the “Queen of the Low Notes” felt it was time
to return. Mary’s musical influences include Gordon Lightfoot, Beaver Felton, Geddy Lee, and Metallica.

Sad News

For those of you who knew her, I thought that you would want to know; I just got word that Tracy Howard (the original TMS vocalist) died this afternoon at approximately 2 PM after a two-year battle with a rare form malignant melanoma. She died at the home of her friend and caregiver Pam, and was surrounded by her family.

Arrangements are being handled by Pearson-Treadwell Funeral Home in Blackshear, GA. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, 10/21 at Blackshear Presbyterian Church and interment will be in the Blackshear Cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online register at www.pearsontreadwell.com.

Tracy had left the band three years ago to devote more time to motherhood as her son Marshall had turned one, but only one year later discovered that she had developed the melanoma. Tracy opted not to try treatments, as her form of melanoma could not be cured. Tracy will always be a part of the TOO MANY SHOES family and she will be missed, but I’m sure she will be singing in her after-life.
